Chiron 101 ~ Sedona - May 19, 2011
Chiron 101 Be Your Own Hero
Do you wonder about the astrology, myth or cultural implications of Chiron?
Chiron was the first of a whole new class of astronomical objects, named centaurs for their characteristics as half-comets and half-planetoids.
Often called “the wounded healer,” Chiron’s mission is to show us how to break through the old hurts that keep us stuck, to give back to our community and find fulfillment.
You’ll learn how Chiron invites us, too, to become composite beings—more fully embodied spirits on a quest for wholeness. Just as Chiron turned out dozens of heroes in Greek mythology, Chiron in your astrological chart is the stuff personal heroism and wholeness are made of.

Whether one or all of the
above, this evening is
guaranteed to change your
perspective on one of the
newer additions to sky lore
and what it means to you.
Discovered in 1977, Chiron
the planetary body turned
out to be as hybrid as the
mythical being after which it
was named, the was "mentor
centaur."
Joyce Mason has specialized in Chiron since the
beginning of her 23-year career as an astrologer and
astrological writer. She created the Chironic
Convergence in 1996, a journey and week-long school
near Chiron’s mythical homeland. Her work has
appeared in The Mountain Astrologer, Planet Earth,
and other astro-publications. More recently, her
popular blog, The Radical Virgo, has featured well
over 100 of her articles, old and new. She’s known
around the globe for her work on Chiron and her
trademark of writing about astrology with both depth
and humor.
