A Warm Welcome!
It's 2012!
This red-letter year that has carried much myth and mystique for a
long time, starting with the fact that it's the end of the Mayan
calendar and some people worry it's also the end of the world. (I think
it's only the end of the world as we knew it. Some parts of that world
weren't so hot, as far as I'm concerned, so I'm willing to let them go.)
As both a humorous and astrological writer, I write about these fast
changing times, among other things. I offer you comic relief with my
fiction when the changes leave you spinning.
Come on In!
Not only do I write about life's mysteries; I write mystery stories. I
completed my first book, The Crystal Ball: A Micki Michaels
Mystery, in late 2011 and will soon know its publication path and
schedule. It'll available for purchase on these pages in the months
ahead. Meanwhile, there's plenty to read and much to contemplate
as we live in a world that's evolving under our feet. Sometimes it's
hard not to fall over! Reminds me of one of my favorite old Carole
King songs, "I Feel the Earth Move."

Genres and Topics
I sharpened my pencil in my twenties writing poetry. The rest of my
genre mix, I call M-in-M's for memoir, inspiration, and mystery. My
topic list on the navigation bar reflects the most important thing you
should know. I play the symbols.
Symbols, Vision and Laughter
Whether it's astrology, tarot, a graffiti message in the bathroom stall,
the meaningful coincidences called synchronicity, or just plain
inklings; I have a knack for seeing the symbolic and how it connects
us to the universe and each other. If you hang out on these pages,
you'll start seeing things, too!
I write about a lot of deep subjects, but I think you'll find plenty of
comic relief and "carbonated holiness." That's what Anne Lamott, a
memoir writer I admire, calls laughter.
Again, welcome! Join me in learning to see how life is winking at us,
as I mix up my experiences in the kaleidescope of my imagination.
When we do that, we create human continuity and story, the best
stuff life has to offer. It's what gives it meaning.
